TAKE A SECOND LOOK

Early one morning, I looked out the kitchen windows to the small pond at the back of our property and saw what I thought was a little black bear cub. I was astonished at the rare sight and continued watching. As the sun rose and the animal moved, I realized that it was not a bear, but only a large black cat.

How many times a second look shows us something that alters our initial impression.

Recently, I had a healing experience that brought out this point to me. Without any obvious cause, the area around one of my eyes became swollen, and over a few days' time, there was some discomfort and a discharge from inside the area. I've learned in my study of Christian Science that a physical scenario like this one is actually remedied by a mental change through prayer. So I asked God to direct me to the healing thought I needed. Then I listened.
