Healing of viral flu

One day, while praying about the coronavirus situation, I was reminded of a healing I had in college. There had been an outbreak of the flu at my university. I was in the drama department, and during this time I was involved in putting on a variety show. A little while before I went to our tech rehearsal (the show was scheduled for the following night), I read in our university newspaper that all the beds in our infirmary were filled with people who had the flu, and that others were also out sick with this flu.

I went to the tech rehearsal that night. I was in two of the skits and had directed another one, and when I arrived at the rehearsal, I found that several members of the cast and crew were out sick. So I bounced around taking care of my skits and standing in for others who were not there, since I had the scripts and could help out. It was important that we get all the lights, sound, and scene changes right in preparation for the next night’s performance. At the end of the rehearsal, I went back to my room and flopped into bed.

The next morning I woke up—and wished I hadn’t, as I could hardly move due to the flu symptoms I was experiencing, including pain. I had two roommates, who knew I was a Christian Scientist, and they were very helpful. I told them I was just going to stay in bed and pray, and they kindly left me alone to do so.
