THE TIME WAS RIGHT

I was divorced, unemployed, and had three children to support. It might not have seemed like the perfect time to take off 12 days from my job search—but it actually was.

Let me give some background. As a child, I'd attended Christian Science Sunday School from time to time. And as a young mom, I decided I wanted my children to know God as all-powerful Love, the one thing I remembered most about my own Sunday School experience. While my kids were deepening their spiritual education, I began going to church.

One day I'd gone to talk to a Christian Science practitioner and teacher. In the course of our conversation, I learned that she was holding an upcoming class. I didn't feel like I was spiritually ready, but as I talked to her and shared the healings that had come to me through learning more about Christian Science, it became clear to me that I was meant to take class instruction—whether I knew what it was all about or not.
