Dear Members and Friends,
Several months ago, our dear colleague and friend, Scott Preller, CSB, told us he felt the time was right for him to complete his service on the Christian Science Board of Directors in order to devote himself more fully to the healing practice of Christian Science. The Board responded that a good time for such a transition would be sometime during the summer months after Annual Meeting. So, on August 17, 2026, Kevin Ness, CSB, will become the newest member of the Board of Directors, while continuing to serve as a Trustee of The Christian Science Publishing Society.
Kevin served for many years as the General Counsel of the Church and later as the Manager of Committees on Publication, working very closely with the Board. Kevin has been listed in The Christian Science Journal as a Christian Science practitioner since 2008, and in 2021, he became a teacher of Christian Science. Scott noted, “When my colleagues told me they had selected Kevin to fill my slot on the Board, my first thought was that I don’t know anyone at the Church who doesn’t enjoy working with Kevin. There is a quality of calm and ‘oil’ that he brings to all his interactions, which makes it almost impossible for there to be any friction in the room.”
