Effects of accident overcome
No amount of darkness can extinguish light. Likewise, nothing can separate us from God—our source of light, peace, joy, and healing.
Years ago, I experienced clear proof of this. Lying in a small bunk on our boat, I found myself in terrific pain, praying for a message from my Father-Mother God. A recent mountain biking accident had left me with injuries that affected my ability to breathe and digest food. We had only two weeks before charter guests were to arrive for our next journey on the boat.
As I turned my thought to God, I realized that what was truly vital was not my physical condition but my understanding of my spiritual identity. I knew that, just as the moon has no light of its own but reflects light from the sun, my being was a reflection or expression of God—of divine Life, Truth, and Love. I had had numerous healings through applying the teachings of Christian Science, applying the law of Truth, Life, and Love to each challenge with confidence and success. So in that moment, I affirmed that God was right there with me, enveloping me in His love. I could never be separated from His tender care.
