Seek His face
Seek the Lord, and his strength:
seek his face evermore.
—Psalms 105:4
If I strive with earnest gaze
to seek God’s face,
I can see
in those I love
His tenderness shine through,
that I may find His presence gracing
everything I view.
But if my thoughts
should come to rest
on one I fail to love,
I can strive, with deep desire,
to seek His face of love,
that some good word
or selfless act
may purge the past
and lift my sight
to see God’s perfect man at last.
So let us work consistently
to ever seek His face,
that we may see
God’s likeness here—
acknowledge now
that everyone, in truth and grace,
reflects God’s image
face to face.
