Listening to the call of divine Love
I was introduced to Christian Science in 2016 by a dear friend from college. Before this, I had struggled with my spiritual journey, searching for something deeper.
I had been raised in another faith, and Christian Science didn’t deeply resonate with me at first. But something about its teachings kept ringing in my heart, prompting me to explore further. I began to attend church services and later became a member of a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, in Nairobi and of The Mother Church (The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston).
In 2020, I was drawn to pursue a course of study at a school for Christian Scientists. When I approached my parents about my plans, they were resistant and concerned upon learning about my involvement with Christian Science. They found it difficult to understand how Christianity could be harmonized with what they perceived as scientific reasoning. Despite my attempts to explain, they were unconvinced and made it clear that they didn’t wish me to belong to or attend this church anymore.
