Adam and Fallen Man

Revelation 12:9

The great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world.

Satan’s fall is recorded several times in Scripture. In Luke 10:18 Christ Jesus (echoing Isaiah 14:12) proclaims, “I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.” In John 12:31 he states, “Now shall the prince of this world be cast out.” Revelation 20:7–10 describes the devil being cast into a lake of fire. (Other terms for Satan include accuser, adversary, Beelzebub, enemy, and tempter.)
