Divine Love dissolves hostility
At one point in my career, I was assigned to a new role in a new department. This department had been formed to allow the large computer company I worked for to take advantage of a new and rapidly developing technology. I felt out of my depth.
A colleague working on another aspect of the challenge was very intelligent, experienced, respected, and strong, and she seemed to take exception to my presence and contribution. I felt stymied in any direction I tried to take. She simply dismissed, often with belligerence, anything I did or offered as an idea.
I didn’t know how to respond or move forward, so I did what I have learned to do as a student of Christian Science. I turned to God, Love, for an answer because every time I do so, the result is a beautiful expression of Love, intelligence, and Principle that is perfectly adapted to meet the need. Mary Baker Eddy assures us in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, “Love is impartial and universal in its adaptation and bestowals” (p. 13).
