What should I do now?
The Bible shows repeatedly that God provides direction.
I love this question and ask it often. Not because I’m indecisive or feel lost, but because when I am asking it with all my heart, I know I’m poised to get an answer I can trust: an answer from the all-knowing and all-loving God, who wisely and continually directs each of us.
The Bible shows repeatedly that God provides direction. God says of those who love and rely on Him, “He shall call upon me, and I will answer him” (Psalms 91:15). The book of Isaiah reports God’s promise to His people that “thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it” and that “before they call, I will answer” (30:21; 65:24). And Christ Jesus said, “My judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me” (John 5:30).
This is a trustworthy track record. And it’s natural for each of us to hear and follow divine direction when we realize that we’re never separated from its source—the infinite, all-loving, and all-good Mind, God. By humbly and patiently leaning on Mind instead of on a personal human mind, we’re opening our thinking to see that divine wisdom and Love are always operating in our lives, giving us the ideas that meet our needs, sometimes in unexpected ways.
