Christmas when we need it
Christmas truly is all about God’s goodness in action.
When Christmastime came around last year, people everywhere needed buoying up. They were yearning for hope. Lots of bad things had been happening—in my country alone this included events such as wildfires, hurricanes, mass shootings, and the ongoing Covid pandemic.
It was December 9 before I realized I hadn’t bought Christmas cards yet. But I soon found that nearly all the ones available where I live featured reindeer, Santa, holiday cheer, or just winter scenes. Inside, most said merely, “Happy holidays.” I felt my friends and family would welcome a more inspiring, meaningful Christmas message. Finally, I found a card I loved. On the front, it said:
