A changed life

In my first 12 years of studying Christian Science, I was healed of several medically diagnosed diseases or conditions—including mental illness (depression, panic attacks, post-traumatic stress disorder/PTSD, and other effects of abuse), gynecological disorders (menstrual pain, cancerous cells), chronic lower-back and neck pain, and sun poisoning. They had been treated unsuccessfully for many years with medication, therapy, manipulation, and even surgery, but healing came naturally as I grew in my understanding of Christian Science—and often without my even noticing until long after the fact.

There is one overarching theme for these and the many other healings I have experienced: I am not alone—God is always with me. He made me and maintains me as His precious daughter. Knowing this eliminates fear. It assures me that I am loved and safe; that I am inherently valued, worthy, secure in every way; and that I can expect good in every aspect of my life. It enables me to relax—physically and mentally—and trust God to show me the way forward.

In the thirty years since I became a serious student of Christian Science, it has given me a new and fulfilling life—one full of hope and promise. Through my ever-growing understanding of God’s love and constant presence, I approach each situation expecting a good outcome. And I am inspired to share with many others the joy and peace I’ve come to know. For all this and more, I am unspeakably grateful to God, and to Mary Baker Eddy for sharing her discovery of this healing practice with all humanity.
