No more seizures

I would like to express my gratitude for a healing our daughter had many years ago when she was about three months old. One day she had what seemed to be a seizure, though it was so brief that I thought I might have been mistaken. However, a short time later it happened again and was of longer duration. I immediately reached out to God, as I was very frightened.

I held the baby and affirmed God’s love for her. My fear lessened as memories of past healings in our family of six kids came to me. When my husband came in for lunch, I asked him to go to a public pay phone and call a Christian Science practitioner to request Christian Science treatment. (We had just moved and didn’t yet have a phone in our home.) The practitioner spoke of God’s ever-present love and care. He said he would pray for us and then encouraged us to be sure that we were loving everyone. My husband then called my mom, who came to help us.

When Mom heard what the practitioner had said, she remarked, “Well, we know what we have to do, don’t we? We have to love Dad.” Some time before this, there had been a terrible disagreement between my husband and my dad, with much resentment on both sides. Though the practitioner had no way of knowing this, he’d evidently felt that a more expansive sense of love was needed.
