Cold symptoms gone, relationships improved

I am grateful to Father-Mother God for leading me to the path of Christian Science, which has brought innumerable blessings into my life. I want to share one healing that took place in 2008. 

One day I started experiencing cold symptoms, including a cough, which became severe and caused me to have difficulty breathing. At that time I was a lecturer at a senior school in Punjab and traveled eighty kilometers daily for work. I delivered live lectures, which were then telecast to about six hundred government schools in Punjab. A lecture was already scheduled for that day, and no substitute could be provided for it. 

I prayed to know the unreality of the symptoms but could not get any relief, so I called a Christian Science practitioner. I apprised her of the condition and of my fear about delivering the lecture while experiencing such severe symptoms. She lovingly told me to surrender to God and pray with this verse from the Bible: “The Lord, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed” (Deuteronomy 31:8). She also asked me to pray with Hymn 370, which begins, “We are hid with Christ forever / In the Father’s holy plan” (Nellie B. Mace, Christian Science Hymnal, © CSBD). The practitioner told me that whatever good work I am doing is a part of God’s plan. When the lecture was planned, it was God’s plan. Now it was time to accomplish the planned lecture, and God would go before me and accomplish the work for me.
