Spiritual truth brings restoration
No one is ever outside of God’s care. That might seem hard to believe, particularly when we’re faced with evidence of an injury. But to someone who has experienced recovery from bodily injury many times through the years by praying on the basis of God’s uninterrupted care for His beloved creation, this spiritual truth is comforting and healing.
Let me tell you about one example. I had been hiking through some woods on a crisp autumn day, and all was fine until I jumped over a fence bordering our property and landed the wrong way on one foot. The pain was intense. For a few moments, I wasn’t sure I could make it into the house, but with some difficulty I managed.
My husband, who is also a student of Christian Science, was home at the time, and I asked him to pray for me. I knew healing would be found in turning thought to God rather than ruminating on the problem.
