Healed of asthma and blessed by Sunday School

It is well past time for me to come out of the woodwork and finally share my first testimony of healing through Christian Science. I knew that I would do this eventually, and since at this writing there is much need for help and healing around the world, this is a particularly opportune time to do it.

When I was a child, my parents enrolled me in a Christian Science Sunday School, although they had both grown up in other denominations. My mother was not yet a student of Christian Science, but she had experienced healing of a stomach difficulty through Christian Science when she was twelve. It saved her life. She was in the hospital, and her parents had been told that she would not survive another night. Her parents knew about Christian Science, and in desperation they turned to it as a last resort for their daughter. They called a practitioner of Christian Science for help through prayer, and by the next morning she was healed.

My folks gradually came to study and practice Christian Science, although not at the same time. My mom began while my brother and I were in Sunday School. I remember going to Sunday School and enjoying it a lot when I was there, but my brother and I often came up with creative reasons not to go. At times, we made it pretty difficult for our mom. Eventually the resistance fell away, and Sunday School became a place I loved to be.
