Flu symptoms gone

My family and I were looking forward to a long Christmas road trip. But as it approached, members of the family began experiencing flu symptoms.

We turned to Christian Science for healing through prayer, and I felt we were making good progress. But the night before we were to leave, I suddenly felt the symptoms myself. I continued praying for my family, finished jobs that needed to be done, and climbed into bed.

It came to me to not lie down, but to sit upright and read Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy in order to keep only the truth about my perfection as God’s spiritual likeness present in my thought. I had to actively silence thoughts about the flu and instead dig into what I was reading with more vigor. I mentally crawled inside that truth about my spiritual perfection.
