Steadfast trust in God heals illness
Over a year ago I had a wonderful healing of stomach pains, muscle soreness, and lightheadedness. The physical discomfort started before a Wednesday evening testimony meeting at church, and I was determined to put it out at every turn—to not let my thought sink into believing this sickness was real. I endeavored to see that my true origin and identity are spiritual, maintained by my Father-Mother God.
The readings at church from the Bible and from the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, buoyed me, and I was able to get some sleep when I got home. It was not the most restful sleep, yet every time I awakened, I put out of thought the notion that I could be sick and turned straight to the Father in prayer.
The physical difficulty continued through the next morning, and I knew the need for me was to trust God. At lunchtime, I was feeling so ill that I thought I might pass out, so I became even more steadfast in my silent declarations of Truth, my knowing with all of my being that I am one with God. I prepared some lunch and read the Bible Lesson from the Christian Science Quarterly, identifying myself as the perfect man spoken of in the Bible Lesson, as the diseaseless, sinless expression that God created. I had thought I would lie down after that, but I felt just fine, so I went into my office to work. And then I realized that I had been healed. Completely! With no lingering or recurring symptoms.
