It’s not about me
When I read Bible accounts of Christ Jesus’ healings, it always strikes me that the people witnessing them glorified God, not the man Jesus. That’s no doubt because of the humble way he presented himself.
This man who healed the sick, raised the dead, fed thousands, and walked on water said, “I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me” (John 5:30).
This was not false modesty. Jesus knew and explained that he was the Son of God, the promised Messiah. But he also understood that his wisdom and power were derived from God, the only cause and creator. He simply would not allow people to heap praise on him.
