No more cold and flu symptoms

I woke up one day feeling some symptoms of a cold or the flu. By late morning I felt very ill and was in need of relief.

Over the years I have heard and read accounts of healing through Christian Science that involved the testifier becoming aware of an angel message that felt like “hearing God’s voice.” In the weeks leading up to my feeling these symptoms, I had been working to be more alert in order to hear such messages myself.

A friend once asked me if I believed in angels, and I said I did. In Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy explains angels as “God’s thoughts passing to man; spiritual intuitions, pure and perfect; the inspiration of goodness, purity, and immortality, counteracting all evil, sensuality, and mortality” (p. 581). And that was certainly what I seemed to feel the need for. With that in mind, I sat down to pray and listen for what God wanted me to know.
