Unerring direction from God—whether or not we ask
It seems everywhere we look—from individuals needing to make decisions to governments facing quandaries—people are looking for answers as to what direction to take or hoping to find a solution that hasn’t yet been seen.
Often I reach out to God, specifically asking for guidance, and have found this Bible verse helpful: “Thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left” (Isaiah 30:21). I like to pray with it when I am looking for direction or needing guidance with making a decision. It assures me that God is always here, showing the way to move forward.
But what about the times when we hear a clear direction seemingly out of the blue? The Bible also tells us, referring to God, that “your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him” (Matthew 6:8). As we understand that we are made by God, and regularly turn to Him and open our consciousness to divine inspiration, we can expect to hear His guidance, whether or not we’ve asked for it.
