In frictionless grace
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.…
And the spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
—Genesis 1:1, 2
Some voice said, “I made you to crawl, made you mortal,
made you insignificantly small.”
But this is not so, for you and I know My hand made you strong,
made you beautiful, made you to belong.
I speak to you in secret, yet transparent for all,
and move My children beyond a crawl.
Upon the face of My waters, I move you with strength,
with courage and lightness to glide through days’ length.
So, up and over with frictionless grace,
I move you and all upon waters’ face.
With a steady, untrammeled, clear course,
I lift you up with My effortless force.
So go forward, My glider, in grace,
no crawl, no butterflies, no strain in My pace.
Give Me your all, move with My strength,
buoyed by Love in My firm embrace.
