Agelessness proven in healings
Throughout most of my life I have enjoyed limitless energy, freedom of physical movement, and nearly continuous health with few cases of sickness, pain, or disease. Whenever I had any pain or illness in my body, healing resulted quickly in most cases. In the last few years, however, I’ve been presented with multiple opportunities for physical healing and for proving my present immortality.
In answer to the question “What is man?” Mary Baker Eddy states in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures: “Man is not matter; he is not made up of brain, blood, bones, and other material elements. The Scriptures inform us that man is made in the image and likeness of God. Matter is not that likeness. The likeness of Spirit cannot be so unlike Spirit. Man is spiritual and perfect; and because he is spiritual and perfect, he must be so understood in Christian Science. Man is idea, the image, of Love; he is not physique” (p. 475).
This says to me that man (each of us) is not matter ever—not even for a month, a year, or many years. He is not made up of material elements such as heart, ligaments, muscles, etc. So when a difficulty with one of these material elements appears, I can see fearlessly and confidently that it isn’t a true view of my identity. As God’s spiritual likeness, I am immortal now, always have been, and ever will be. I don’t need to be afraid of or impressed by expectations as to what is considered humanly “normal” aging. Immortality means we are not subject to decline, disease, pain, limitations, or so-called material laws, so I can discard these false impositions quickly, without hesitation.
