Resentment healed
Christian Science found me through a colleague when I was struggling with many challenges way back in 1993. My spiritual journey started with healings of asthma, relationship issues, gynecological troubles, teeth problems, and job concerns, to name a few. Within two years I became a member of the Christian Science Society in the city where I lived and of The Mother Church, and after five years I took Christian Science Primary class instruction to learn more thoroughly about Christian Science healing.
Christ Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount in the book of Matthew in the Bible always touched my heart. I loved reading it but found some of the teachings difficult to practice. In the year 2007 I had a specific opportunity to put some of the truths from it into practice, and this relieved me of the burden of holding grudges.
I felt hurt by the attitude of one of my close relatives. I felt very bad because I had done so much for her at a time of need. That feeling lingered on, and ultimately I found that I never felt like talking to her whenever she telephoned our home. I felt justified labeling her as an ungrateful person. Although I was hiding my feelings, my unwillingness to talk to her was becoming visible to other family members, and one of them even pointed it out. But I never wanted to involve anyone, including my husband. Rather, I decided to heal the problem by putting into practice what I had learned about love after I became a student of Christian Science.
