A faithful, joyful, and triumphant Christmas
As the holiday season draws closer, musicians begin practicing their Christmas music. Such is the case with my kids, who play the violin. I love listening to Christmas music, and I don’t mind hearing it even before December arrives.
One day, as my kids and I were singing along to carols on the car radio during the ride home from their violin lessons, we heard “O Come, All Ye Faithful.” I’ve sung this carol more times than I know, but it was the first time I had really listened to the words.
The words are familiar to many of us, particularly the first verse:
