Standing upright again after back injury
Jesus said, “With God all things are possible” (Mark 10:27). And he healed a woman who had been bent over for 18 years and “could in no wise lift up herself” (Luke 13:11).
About five and a half years ago, I picked up something heavy from the floor of my coat closet, and when I tried to stand up straight, I could not do it. Over a period of many years as a student of Christian Science, I had witnessed in my own experience and in others’ that indeed, all things are possible to God. So I never doubted that God could heal me, and I began to seek the angel messages that could lift my thought above the belief that I was material, and therefore subject to injury and pain. The Bible tells us that God made man in His image and likeness and gave him dominion, and that everything God made is good; this can be proved through Christian Science.
Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer of Christian Science, says, speaking of God as Love, “The very circumstance which your suffering sense deems wrathful and afflictive, Love can make an angel entertained unawares” (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 574). In my prayers and study, I began to listen for the angel thoughts I needed to prove there is no sensation in matter. Because matter was never created by God, it can not, therefore, “ache, swell, and be inflamed” (Science and Health, p. 393).
