Twisted ankle healed

Last summer I severely twisted my ankle during a run. While still sitting on the ground in the forest, I was immensely grateful for a sense of God’s presence. I pondered “the scientific statement of being” as given in Mary Baker Eddy’s book Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. The statement includes this sentence: “All is infinite Mind and its infinite manifestation, for God is All-in-all” (p. 468). This truth uplifted my thought. I got up, and was able to get to my car and drive home.

At home, I listened to God in prayer. I felt God’s direction as I prayed and studied Miscellaneous Writings 1883–1896 by Mary Baker Eddy. And in the Bible I found Christ Jesus’ explanation of the vine and its branches helpful (see John 15:1–8). For example, Jesus said: “I am the vine, ye are the branches.” We are all bound to God in Christ, and the oneness of God and man through Christ cannot be severed. I also found encouragement and help in the healing ideas included in three testimonies shared at previous Wednesday testimony meetings in which similar injuries had been healed. Within two days I was able to walk again, but was still unable to use stairs.

I asked a fellow Christian Scientist for treatment through prayer, which she gave right away. She affirmed the spiritual fact of God’s harmonious government of His creation and pointed out that I consist of spiritual substance, not physical components that could be injured. Based on this, I no longer felt any fear that the ankle might become easily prone to injury in the future.
