Lost retirement savings restored
I am grateful to my loving parents for sharing the spiritual truths of Christian Science with their children. I learned, and continue to learn, how prayerful reliance on God solves problems—and that goes for all kinds of problems, not just physical ones.
Some years after my parents retired, my father informed me that he had been investing most of his retirement savings in rare gemstones. He said they were now worth more than a million dollars, and he wanted me to help him sell them. I asked him how he learned about these investments. He explained a gemstone salesman had contacted him by phone. My father first invested a small amount of money in a gemstone, and made a nice profit. He then sold his other investments and put the proceeds into more gemstones recommended by the salesman.
This concerned me. I asked my father to give me the stones so I could get them appraised. Then, I turned my thought to God and prayed for guidance.
