The joy of more patience
The last two years or so have been a quiet time of spiritual growth for me. I have devoted much more time to the study of Christian Science, especially to reading Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. I have found that deeper study and prayer have proved effective, bringing regeneration and peace into my life.
The progress hasn’t been in colossal leaps. It’s been unhurried and not so much outwardly visible as inwardly seen and felt as I grow in compassion. Still, it’s been an adventure!
Recently, I’ve given more thought to the quality of patience. I can’t imagine a time when patience, and the meekness it involves, has been so obviously needed. I have been pondering how patient love can bless every part of life. When you express patience rooted in a spiritual mode of thought, you enrich your experience in every aspect. It gives you a clear sense of brotherhood with your fellow man—a brotherhood that cannot be dissolved.
