Feeling renewed by ‘the divine energy of Spirit’
I’m so grateful for the wonderful Annual Meeting theme this year! “Let us feel the divine energy of Spirit, bringing us into newness of life …” (Mary Baker Eddy, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 249). I have been thankful for the opportunity to see how Mrs. Eddy used the term “divine energy” in different places in her writings, including in the textbook of Christian Science, Science and Health.
Recently I had been working for several days preparing for an upcoming project, and when I awoke one morning, I felt extremely tired and drained of all energy. As I began to pray to see that this was an imposition in thought on my true being, the theme for Annual Meeting came to thought. I looked up the statement, and as I read more of it, these words seemed to be exactly what I needed: “Let us feel the divine energy of Spirit, bringing us into newness of life and recognizing no mortal nor material power as able to destroy. Let us rejoice that we are subject to the divine ‘powers that be.’ Such is the true Science of being.”
