Quick recovery from accident
Our office was in the process of changing locations, and for two weeks I was preparing our warehouse for the move. During this time I prayed to understand that God was in control—that everything would go harmoniously and everyone would be safe. I also affirmed that as God’s reflection, man always expresses calm and peace.
On the last day, while I was moving a metal shelving unit with a hand truck, a corner of it caught on a pallet and started to tip over on top of me. As the unit shifted, a metal brace fell across my nose and several metal dividers hit me in the face.
The pain was so intense that my first thought was that my nose was broken. Several coworkers ran to my aid, and I reassured them, “I’m OK, I’m OK.” Once everything was under control, I excused myself, again affirming that I was OK, and went into the restroom to calm down.
