Can we really hear God? Yes!
“God doesn’t communicate with me.” “God may be communicating, but I can’t hear.” Have you ever been tempted with thoughts such as these? While we may willingly acknowledge that God communicated with the prophets and Christ Jesus, sometimes we may question whether God speaks to us or whether we can hear God.
Turning to God is not turning to some remote being who is out of touch with or not interested in us. It is prayerfully listening for what our all-loving and always-present Father-Mother alone has the authority to say. So many times, we rush about asking everyone’s opinion on what we should do—instead of seeking God’s wisdom. If there was someone we knew who had the knowledge and authority to inspire solutions or give us guidance, would it make sense to talk to everyone but that individual? No! The only way to truly resolve an issue in a way that blesses everyone is to go directly to God.
How do we go to God? We actually don’t have to “go” anywhere. We can start by acknowledging that we are already in God’s presence and able to understand His will. As the spiritual image and likeness of God, man—including each of us—reflects the intelligence, inspiration, and insight imparted by divine Mind. We are not separate from God but are one with God. We reflect the all-hearing and all-knowing God.
