The Christ is speaking
“Christ is the true idea voicing good, the divine message from God to men speaking to the human consciousness,” writes Mary Baker Eddy in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures (p. 332). The Christ, speaking directly to human consciousness, heals and redeems human lives. Evidence of this has been recorded in the pages of this publication since its inception.
One afternoon, I found myself discouraged by the news headlines, which were chock-full of stories of corruption, violence, and other illegal activity. It was tempting to believe that some people are dishonest, immoral, and prone to harmful criminal behavior. The assertion that man acts separately from God—is an independent agent, left to his own devices to navigate the different seasons of the human experience, and is capable of making unwise decisions—needed to be challenged. So I prayed to better understand that the Christ does, in fact, speak directly to every human consciousness—and that there is receptivity there.
I prayed to better understand that the Christ does, in fact, speak directly to every human consciousness.
