Love for The Christian Science Monitor inspires healing
A few months ago, I had the opportunity to bear witness to this truth: “If the Scientist reaches his patient through divine Love, the healing work will be accomplished at one visit, and the disease will vanish into its native nothingness like dew before the morning sunshine” (Mary Baker Eddy, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 365).
Aggressive cold or flu symptoms had lingered for a few days. My work schedule left little time for focused prayer beyond reading the weekly Bible Lesson in the Christian Science Quarterly, which brought needed inspiration. However, at one point I realized that I needed to firmly put down this claim of illness. Soon after arriving home from work one afternoon, I resolved to settle down and give myself a specific prayerful treatment—rather than succumb to sleep. (My day had started at 4:30 a.m.)
