Quick healing of hand
It’s with deep gratitude that I would like to share an experience I had recently. My family and I had gone out to have dinner one afternoon. As I was exiting the car and making sure my young children were also getting out, I inadvertently slammed the car door on my hand. I felt a sharp pain, especially in my little finger. My young daughter began to give me her childlike comfort.
I also began to seek comfort from our dear Father-Mother God, who is also known as divine Love in Christian Science. The pain in my hand was so fierce that at first it had me fearful that there was damage done. An angel thought from God immediately came to me—“Accidents are unknown to God, or immortal Mind ….” That’s the beginning of a quote on page 424 of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. It’s describing God’s kingdom, and as a child of God I couldn’t, in truth, be susceptible to anything that’s not true of His good creation. Therefore, I mentally declared that there is no place for anything but perfection in my experience. I knew that despite the evidence, all was well.
As soon as I turned to God in prayer, the pain quickly began to subside. At first my hand looked quite awful, but within minutes the pain was gone, and there was very little evidence of the accident. I could use my hand normally, and I was able to go into the restaurant and have a pleasant dinner with my family.
