Kitten healed of congenital malformation

Three years ago, I awoke to find my active four-month-old kitten struggling to walk more than a few steps without lying down.

I phoned a Christian Science practitioner to help me see and understand that this dear little kitten was, in spiritual reality, an unfettered idea of God, expressing agility and grace. I made an appointment with the local veterinarian—not for a diagnosis, but to see how to make the kitten most comfortable, since it was to visit my young granddaughter, who would be picking it up and carrying it around. The vet explained that the kitten had a genetic malformation in the knee joints in its hind legs that would require surgery, followed by extensive therapy.

I called the practitioner back and shared the vet’s report, and he shared two specific healing thoughts: “The word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart” (Hebrews 4:12), and, “Mind’s infinite ideas run and disport themselves” (Mary Baker Eddy, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 514).
