Angels to the rescue

We all have challenges to face in our lives from time to time. Some may be quite small, but others can be daunting. I have learned through studying Christian Science that whenever there’s a problem of any kind facing us, we are able to turn to God and better understand that He is our loving Father-Mother, who is right there with us, caring for us, forever maintaining the well-being of all that He created. God is the one infinite Mind, always imparting His pure thoughts to His children. When we are receptive to His thoughts in prayer, we will receive the guiding, healing message that comes to the rescue and provides what we need.

The ninety-first Psalm gives this assurance: “Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; there shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways” (verses 9–11).

In her book Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, defines angels metaphysically as “God’s thoughts passing to man; spiritual intuitions, pure and perfect; the inspiration of goodness, purity, and immortality, counteracting all evil, sensuality, and mortality” (p. 581).
