Prayer about home heals foot pain
This testimony was originally posted during The Mother Church’s online Wednesday testimony meeting.
At one time my husband and I lived in the country, but my husband’s work often took him to a major city. Because of this, we felt led to rent an apartment in the city so we would have a home away from home, and also because we felt it would support the work he and I were doing. This meant regular three-hour trips back and forth.
One year, we made one of our trips in early spring. I wore big, heavy boots for the ride down. When we arrived at the apartment, I got out of the car and found I could hardly walk because my right foot was so painful.
I prayed for myself over the next couple of days but I continued to hobble around without any real improvement. Then one morning as I was reading the Christian Science Bible Lesson, I looked up the Bible citations in James Moffatt’s translation. A verse higher up on the page that wasn’t in the Lesson caught my eye. It said something to the effect of “don’t be dislocated.”
