At home with the 23rd Psalm
Psalm 23 has always been a wonderful source of comfort and assurance for me, and it was particularly so when I was in need of a home after relocating some years ago.
I was staying temporarily with family members and praying daily with the psalm, as well as with the weekly Christian Science Bible Lesson from the Christian Science Quarterly. I wasn’t outlining what my next step was going to be, but was quietly placing my hand in God’s, as my Shepherd, trusting Him to take care of my needs and guide me during this time.
Since I didn’t know anyone except my immediate family in this new location, I was pleasantly surprised when, after just a couple of days, I heard my name called while swimming at a local pool. It was a friend (and former neighbor and client) who had moved to the same city two days after me. She wanted to know where I was living, and I gave her my contact information. I expected that this was just a continuation of our friendship.
