Armed with understanding
When my Christian Science teacher accepted my application for Primary class instruction, I thought I was about to take an academic and intellectual course, where I would be informed of the teacher’s opinions and various hypotheses propounded by scholars. But I learned quickly that class is far from being academic, scholastic, or theoretical, and that I was being guided by my teacher but taught by God.
Thus I began a new beginning in spiritual education, building a foundation that has helped me to reason spiritually and scientifically.
I have a franchise I am supposed to make a profit from, as in the traditional business culture. Class has opened my eyes as to how I can see my business as a place to demonstrate harmony and God’s care for us, His spiritual ideas. My old way of reasoning was to see the substance of my business as basically to maximize profit after successfully stimulating demand through marketing gimmicks. Class taught me to apply spiritual concepts to how I think about my business. I now pray to know its foundation to be love, wisdom, and intelligence. I have seen that an understanding that true substance is in God and His attributes, and that this is divine law, entirely rules out whatever claim of abnormality mortal beliefs suggest, including lack of success or progress. Divine law in operation reveals and sustains all real substance.
