Injury healed quickly
As a Christian Scientist, I think of myself as a student of “the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1). This is the Bible’s poetic way of describing faith, and I am aware of that kind of evidence every day through the demonstration of Christian Science.
A healing I had a couple of years ago stands out to me as proof that divine Mind, not matter, is true substance. While running on my treadmill at home one morning before work, I was fidgeting with the TV remote and suddenly fell down onto the rapidly moving belt. After an awkward scramble to get up and off the treadmill, I rolled up my sweatpants and saw that a deep layer of skin was gone from both knees and my ankle.
Despite the shocking appearance, I was not afraid. Instead, I resolved to see this as an opportunity to prove that God knows no accidents, for He governs His creation in complete harmony. I knew that since man is God’s perfect expression, I was always intact and could experience no such thing as injury or pain. I saw that there was absolutely no reason why I couldn’t continue to go about my day, walking normally and comfortably.
