Healed of symptoms of dengue fever
A few years ago I was stricken with what I believed was dengue fever. I had become familiar with its symptoms after visiting two young boys who were afflicted by it and hospitalized for several days.
The initial symptoms surfaced suddenly late one afternoon while I was at my place of work, and they quickly became more alarming. The first question that came to mind was, Should I go to a doctor or hospital, or treat myself in Christian Science?
I have been a student of Christian Science for many years and have had many healings, including of tuberculosis, acute sinusitis, influenza, and dry cough, through prayer. Two months before this physical challenge I had taken a course in Christian Science Primary class instruction, which taught me how to pray more effectively and heal. Encouraged by what I’d learned about God’s omnipotence in this class, and remembering that “trials are proofs of God’s care” (Mary Baker Eddy, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 66), I decided to rely entirely on God for healing.
