Our gratitude for God heals!
Many of us have undoubtedly heard the commonly shared advice, “Be grateful for what you have.” Appreciating the good we have in our experience is certainly an important lesson, but there’s a sense of gratitude that goes deeper than just giving thanks for physical possessions or even for the loved ones in our lives.
In fact, no matter how much or how little we may have in terms of material things, or how our worldly assets compare to others’, or how many friends we might have, or how happy our family life is or isn’t, we all have much to be grateful for because of who God is.
In the Bible, in the book of Isaiah, we read, “I am the Lord, and there is none else” (45:5); and the book of First John tells us, “God is light, and in him is no darkness at all” (1:5). Christ Jesus proved this, teaching through his words and deeds that reality is wholly spiritual; that the picture the material senses present, which often includes lack and hardship, has nothing to do with the truth of being; that God is All and He is good, without any element of evil.
