The loving source of health

Sometimes we may feel personally responsible for our problems. Or personally responsible for healing them. If we’re laboring under guilt for any reason, or a false sense of responsibility, our prayers for healing may themselves feel labored.

I once was struggling with a painful difficulty that affected my walking. I was afraid I had inadvertently brought it on myself, through a lack of wisdom, and this fear that I was responsible for it was weighing against my prayers to see its unreality and find healing.

Through the prayers of another, whom I asked to help me, I was lifted out of that false sense of responsibility. I gained a freer sense that I wasn’t a mortal suffering for a mistake, but that I was and always had been God’s loved reflection, or image. I was being governed even then by God’s wisdom and goodness, and therefore I was harmonious and free in every way. This new glimpse of my spiritual freedom under God’s care enabled me to continue praying on my own with greater expectancy. The full healing came very soon.
