Promptness in treatment
As we strive to improve our individual practice of Christian Science, it’s worthwhile to examine our promptness in responding to illness, accident, or some other condition. How immediate is our treatment? How often do we recognize a problem but defer prayer until we feel “we have more time” to deal with it?
Christ Jesus showed that it’s possible to be instantly ready to meet the demand for right thinking. Our faithfulness in turning thought to truth in response to sickness or sin aids our spiritual progress.
Materialism vigorously opposes the healing power of Spirit, God. It would derail or delay our natural love for and trust in God, good. These challenges are what Christian Science terms animal magnetism, the universal belief of life and intelligence in matter.
