A pivotal time
Christian Science class instruction remains to me the most pivotal time in my life. I took class the summer after I had graduated from college, and it really solidified for me what it means to practice Christian Science. It was such a relief to realize that practice is just that—turning to God over and over and over. I didn’t need to know it all, I just needed to practice. And today, I’m still practicing!
After class, the Christian Science Bible Lessons were so illuminated to me. I always take my questions to the Lesson for the week, and the answers are there.
I remember a healing I had once when I woke up unable to breathe properly. I began to study the Lesson and was so struck by how fitting that week’s content was in addressing the tsunami that had struck Asia. This event had been troubling to me, but I was convinced of God’s care for that beloved region after reading that Lesson.
