Winning hearts to God through Christ-healing
It could be said that Christ Jesus won hearts to God through his healing ministry. Christ-healing is the Father’s means of convincing us that we are in fact His, and that we are dearly loved. It is how we are reached and instructed by God in a tangible way, and how we reach and help and instruct others in the way of Truth.
Let’s consider, for example: What if you had come to the Master doubtful of God’s existence, or had been brought up to believe that God punished you for mistakes, or that He allowed physical ills to persist until individuals learned hard spiritual lessons? What would there be in all of human experience, short of the purely spiritual method of healing that Jesus so graciously offered, that would fully convince you that you are the Father’s beloved?
No doubt it would take divine Love moving on your thought so profoundly as to be felt tangibly as health restored, or a dire need met, or some self-destructive habit banished. Nothing less would so thoroughly dispel entrenched misconceptions about the nature of God and man and impel the heartfelt admission that the Father intends for you goodness and blessing, and that you are inherently worthy of that goodness and blessing.
