A Christmas full of peace
Last December, as I was busily preparing for the Christmas holidays and frustrated that I was not accomplishing what I wanted to, I was suddenly stricken with severe pain and other symptoms that seemed to indicate a bladder problem. I’d had similar but less acute symptoms before, but I was now experiencing bleeding and loss of bladder control, which were frightening.
I called a Christian Science practitioner to pray with me for healing. She reassured me of God’s tender love and care and encouraged me to see this challenge as an opportunity to pray not just for myself but for the world. She suggested I pray with these lines from the Christian Science Hymnal:
