Infection healed
A number of years ago, I had a healing that was particularly meaningful. While it was not diagnosed, I felt it might be a urinary infection. The condition was painful, and so early on I called a Christian Science practitioner for prayerful help. He was quite loving and supportive, and we spoke every couple of days. We prayed together with different passages from the Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy.
After about two weeks, I was frustrated that the problem still persisted. It became more and more difficult to go about daily life. Our children were young and our household was busy. Sometimes I would disappear to the bedroom to be alone and try to find some comfort, but the situation grew more challenging.
One night, I was unable to sleep at all. I certainly was praying, but I could find no peace. I stayed awake the entire night. Not wanting to deprive the practitioner of sleep too, I waited until I thought it was an acceptable hour in the morning to call him again. I think I called around 6:00 a.m., and he was right there at the other end of the phone, ready and happy to help. (How grateful I am to this day for this practitioner and for all the Christian Science practitioners, who devote themselves to the metaphysical support of individuals in need.)
