Our son walked and ran freely
A healing I listened to on a recent Sentinel audio podcast brought back a flood of gratitude for God and Christian Science as I remembered a similar healing with our son. My father, who was not a Christian Scientist, came to visit shortly after our son’s birth and noticed that his ankles turned inward quite noticeably. My father was concerned enough to talk to me about it.
He and my mother, who was a Christian Scientist, had an agreement about relying on Christian Science for the health of their children, although my siblings and I sometimes went to a physician for diagnoses while we were growing up. I knew that my father would respect my choice of Christian Science treatment for his grandson.
I prayed quietly and diligently and did not constantly examine the angle of our son’s ankles. Instead, my prayers affirmed, “How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings” (Isaiah 52:7). As he grew, he crawled and moved around as an active infant does.
